الْغَاشِيَةِ

هَلۡ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلۡغَٰشِيَةِ

Translation: Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)

وُجُوهࣱ يَوۡمَئِذٍ خَٰشِعَةٌ

Translation: Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated

عَامِلَةࣱ نَّاصِبَةࣱ

Translation: Labouring (hard), weary

تَصۡلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةࣰ

Translation: The while they enter the Blazing Fire

تُسۡقَىٰ مِنۡ عَيۡنٍ ءَانِيَةࣲ

Translation: The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring

لَّيۡسَ لَهُمۡ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِن ضَرِيعࣲ

Translation: No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari

لَّا يُسۡمِنُ وَلَا يُغۡنِي مِن جُوعࣲ

Translation: Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger

وُجُوهࣱ يَوۡمَئِذࣲ نَّاعِمَةࣱ

Translation: (Other) faces that Day will be joyful

لِّسَعۡيِهَا رَاضِيَةࣱ

Translation: Pleased with their striving

فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةࣲ

Translation: In a Garden on high

لَّا تَسۡمَعُ فِيهَا لَٰغِيَةࣰ

Translation: Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity

فِيهَا عَيۡنࣱ جَارِيَةࣱ

Translation: Therein will be a bubbling spring

فِيهَا سُرُرࣱ مَّرۡفُوعَةࣱ

Translation: Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high

وَأَكۡوَابࣱ مَّوۡضُوعَةࣱ

Translation: Goblets placed (ready)

وَنَمَارِقُ مَصۡفُوفَةࣱ

Translation: And cushions set in rows

وَزَرَابِيُّ مَبۡثُوثَةٌ

Translation: And rich carpets (all) spread out

أَفَلَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَى ٱلۡإِبِلِ كَيۡفَ خُلِقَتۡ

Translation: Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made

وَإِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ كَيۡفَ رُفِعَتۡ

Translation: And at the Sky, how it is raised high

وَإِلَى ٱلۡجِبَالِ كَيۡفَ نُصِبَتۡ

Translation: And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm

وَإِلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ كَيۡفَ سُطِحَتۡ

Translation: And at the Earth, how it is spread out

فَذَكِّرۡ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُذَكِّرࣱ

Translation: Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish

لَّسۡتَ عَلَيۡهِم بِمُصَيۡطِرٍ

Translation: Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs

إِلَّا مَن تَوَلَّىٰ وَكَفَرَ

Translation: But if any turn away and reject Allah

فَيُعَذِّبُهُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡعَذَابَ ٱلۡأَكۡبَرَ

Translation: Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment

إِنَّ إِلَيۡنَآ إِيَابَهُمۡ

Translation: For to Us will be their return

ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيۡنَا حِسَابَهُم

Translation: Then it will be for Us to call them to account
