بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

verse 1

إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنشَقَّتۡ

Translation: When the sky is rent asunder

verse 2

وَأَذِنَتۡ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتۡ

Translation: And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so)

verse 3

وَإِذَا ٱلۡأَرۡضُ مُدَّتۡ

Translation: And when the earth is flattened out

verse 4

وَأَلۡقَتۡ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتۡ

Translation: And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty

verse 5

وَأَذِنَتۡ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتۡ

Translation: And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality)

verse 6

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدۡحࣰ ا فَمُلَٰقِيهِ

Translation: O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him

verse 7

فَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ

Translation: Then he who is given his Record in his right hand

verse 8

فَسَوۡفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابࣰ ا يَسِيرࣰ ا

Translation: Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning

verse 9

وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ مَسۡرُورࣰ ا

Translation: And he will turn to his people, rejoicing

verse 10

وَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ وَرَآءَ ظَهۡرِهِۦ

Translation: But he who is given his Record behind his back

verse 11

فَسَوۡفَ يَدۡعُواْ ثُبُورࣰ ا

Translation: Soon will he cry for perdition

verse 12

وَيَصۡلَىٰ سَعِيرًا

Translation: And he will enter a Blazing Fire

verse 13

إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فِيٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ مَسۡرُورًا

Translation: Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing

verse 14

إِنَّهُۥ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ

Translation: Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)

verse 15

بَلَىٰٓۚ إِنَّ رَبَّهُۥ كَانَ بِهِۦ بَصِيرࣰ ا

Translation: Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him

verse 16

فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِٱلشَّفَقِ

Translation: So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset

verse 17

وَٱلَّيۡلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ

Translation: The Night and its Homing

verse 18

وَٱلۡقَمَرِ إِذَا ٱتَّسَقَ

Translation: And the Moon in her fullness

verse 19

لَتَرۡكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقࣲ

Translation: Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage

verse 20

فَمَا لَهُمۡ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ

Translation: What then is the matter with them, that they believe not

verse 21

وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ لَا يَسۡجُدُونَۤ۩

Translation: And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate

Verse of prostration

verse 22

بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يُكَذِّبُونَ

Translation: But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it)

verse 23

وَٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ

Translation: But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts)

verse 24

فَبَشِّرۡهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ

Translation: So announce to them a Penalty Grievous

verse 25

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمۡ أَجۡرٌ غَيۡرُ مَمۡنُونِۭ

Translation: Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail
